Spike Cover Roof Cleats

Roofing Cleats That Strap Over Your Boots

Cougar Paws roof cleats strap right over your work boots or shoes and bite into the surface, so you stay planted on steep, loose, and torn-up roofs. Each pair comes loaded with 18 replaceable spikes that dig in for maximum holding power on tear-offs, wood shake, tile,
and other rough surfaces where a smooth sole slides out. Adjustable straps lock them down for a snug, secure fit, and when the spikes wear down you swap them out instead of buying
new cleats.

Built for roofers who need real traction without committing to a dedicated boot, these roofing cleats go on in seconds and come off just as fast.

Our Cougar Paws roofing spike cover is ideal for roof tear-offs. The roofing spike cover provides maximum holding power and durability. Our roofing cleats or spikes work well to give you better footing while roofing on a variety of surfaces. Our roofing products are dependable and will help you get the job done safely.

Note these spike covers are not recommended for new roof surfaces. These can also be used with some other brands of boots and shoes.

Which Traction Do You Need?

Not sure which traction you need? Roof cleats (this spike cover) strap over any boot and grip hard on tear-offs and rough roofs - the most flexible, lowest-cost way to add traction. Pad-sole roofing boots use a soft foam pad for grip on new shingles and finished surfaces where spikes would do damage. Rule of thumb: spikes for tearing off and rough work, pads for new roofs.

What are roof cleats?

Traction aids that strap over your boots/shoes and use metal spikes to grip the roof. Cougar Paws spike covers are roof cleats with 18 replaceable spikes per pair.

When should I use roof cleats instead of roofing boots?

Use cleats for tear-offs and rough surfaces (wood shake, tile) where spikes bite in. For new/finished surfaces use a pad-sole boot - spikes aren't recommended on new roofs.

How do they fit and install?

Strap on over boots/shoes in seconds with adjustable straps. Size by shoe size: S (3–4), M(5–7), L (7.5–10), XL (10.5–14).

Do the spikes wear out, and are they replaceable?

Yes, 18 spikes per cover, fully replaceable. Grab an 18-pack of CP Replacement Spikes (with wrench) to refresh instead of replacing.
