Are Cougar Paws Performer boots good for roofing?
The Performer has been our flagship roofing boot since 1996. The replaceable Peak Line pad-sole is engineered specifically to grip asphalt shingle, which is why it is the boot many professional roofers reach for over standard work boots that slip on granular roofs.
Do the Performer boots work on steep roofs?
Yes. The pad-sole grips on slope where lug treads break loose. For very steep pitches where you want a lower, more agile profile, take a look at our Steep Sneaks; for all-day work and tear-offs on walkable-to-steep shingle, the Performer is the workhorse.
How long do the Peak Line pads last, and can I replace them?
The pads are fully replaceable; that is the design. When grip starts to drop off, you swap the pad and keep the boot rather than buying a new pair.
What is the difference between the Performer and the Steep Sneaks?
Same pad-sole grip, different build. The Performer is a full leather work boot with an adjustable strap and high ankle support for all-day roofing. The Steep Sneaks are a low-profile shoe for roofers who want maximum agility on steep pitches.

Boots fit perfectly. Very comfortable. Took them for a test run on a asphalt shingle roof. They get a good grip and don't damage the shingles. I will update my review after a couple of days of work.

Excellent. I used it for a job where I needed to get onto a roof to clean ventilation ducts on a very steep roof, and it worked wonderfully. I’m very satisfied and very happy with it. I 100% recommend it. It’s very efficient.
It grips the roof really, really well, exactly for what you need it for. I haven’t used the one that attaches to metal yet, but the one that grips onto the roof surface works really well. I’m honestly very impressed with how well it performs

Bought extra pads and didnt get the set the comes with the boots.. too bad. Great quality boots but they are very heavy and hot.

Been having these boots for 2 weeks or so and this is tbe best game changer on a roof ever. I mostly work on steep roofs putting on solar attic fans for ventilation and putting new shingles on and I can walk on mostly any roof with confidence now. Shipping was fast , they came in about 4 days but highly recommend these cougar paws .

These roofing boots exceeded our expectations. The grip is outstanding, giving excellent traction and confidence even on steep surfaces. They also took strain off the legs. This allowed for the ability to carry heavier loads and work more efficiently, which made productivity more noticeable. The light weight makes this an excellent choice to wear all day. The boots are great and we use them for all of our employees who work on roofs for gutter cleaning. The only issue we have with them is the sizing, we have to order a size or size and a half smaller for all our employees to have them fit properly! Our latest order we had to order 2 different sizes to ensure at least one would fit him. We have been using them for years and are high quality and help insure our employees safety!
