When to Choose the Hi Top II
You are on and off roofs all day. Inspections, estimates, adjusting, service calls. A full-day work boot is more boot than the job needs, and the weight adds up across four or five climbs.
You work mixed surfaces. Most of your week is shingle with the occasional metal roof. The Hi Top II covers the shingle days, and a magnetic boot comes out for the steel jobs rather than being your only pair.
You want ankle coverage. The higher cut gives more support on uneven or steep footing than a low-profile shoe.
It runs the same Peak Series pad as the rest of the pad-sole range, so the grip is replaceable and the boot is not disposable.
Choose a Performer instead if you are on shingle all day, every day, and want the heavier build.
Replacing the Estimator Boot
The Estimator Boot will be discontinued in 2027. The Hi Top II covers the same job: a lighter pad-sole boot for inspections, estimates and days spent on and off the roof, with the higher cut adding ankle support the Estimator does not have.
It runs the same replaceable Peak Series pad, so if you are coming from an Estimator, the pads you already have in the truck still apply.
Hi Top II FAQ
Clear answers to help you choose the right tool for the job.
Trusted by professionals since 1996
What is the difference between the Hi Top II and the Performer?
Both use the same replaceable Peak Series pad, so the grip is identical. The Hi Top II is the lighter boot, built for people who are on and off the roof repeatedly. The Performer is the heavier all-day boot for crews who stay on shingle.
Is the Hi Top II suitable for roof inspections?
Yes, that is what it is built for. Inspectors, adjusters and estimators climb more and stand still less, and a lighter boot with a replaceable pad suits that pattern better than a full work boot.
Can I wear the Hi Top II on a metal roof?
It is a pad-sole boot, so it is made for shingle and granular surfaces. On steel or standing seam you want a magnetic sole instead.
Are the pads replaceable?
Yes. The pad is the wear part and it swaps out, so the boot itself lasts far longer than a throwaway sole.
What is replacing the Estimator Boot?
The Hi Top II. The Estimator will be discontinued in 2027, and the Hi Top II covers the same use case: a lighter boot for inspections and mixed days, with a higher cut for more ankle support. It takes the same Peak Series replacement pads, and pads for existing Estimators are still available.
