Designed for professional roofers, the Steel Walker® II features a moisture-wicking interior lining that absorbs sweat to help keep feet cool and dry throughout the workday.
For all-day comfort, this roofing boot includes triple-ply cushioning that provides a smooth, supportive ride. Powerful magnets, a softer rubber sole, and an enhanced tread design work together to deliver maximum grip, traction, and confidence on steel surfaces.

Important Usage Note
Note: Be sure to use Cougar Paws® Covers with your Steel Walker® II boots while working on the ground. These covers help protect the soles from damage and prevent metal shavings from collecting in the tread.

Our Flagship Roofing Boot, this 6” boot has a soft flexible leather upper, and an adjustable strap provides increased comfort and stability. Our boot keeps your foot cooler than any other roofing boot. Thermally designed to protect your foot from the high temperatures on the roof.

Magnetic Boots vs. Traditional Pad-Sole Boots
Traditional pad-sole roofing boots grip through high-friction foam that excels on shingle but wears fast and offers no hold on slick metal. The Steel Walker® II swaps that pad for powerful sole magnets engineered specifically for steel and standing-seam metal roofs so you get a positive magnetic lock on the panel instead of relying on friction alone. Do these work on standing-seam and corrugated metal roofs?
Yes, built for steel metal roofs including standing-seam and corrugated. Strongest hold on flat, smooth panel areas; on corrugated profiles, plant your foot on the flat pan between ribs for full magnetic contact.
How strong are the magnets and are they safe?
Strong enough for a positive lock on steel roofing while still letting you step naturally. Magnets are not a substitute for fall protection, always wear a harness and follow OSHA requirements.
Can I wear them on shingle, tile, or aluminum/copper roofs?
Engineered for ferrous (steel) metal roofs. They won't hold on non-magnetic aluminum or copper; for shingle work, use a pad-sole Cougar Paws® boot.
Do they come with a safety toe?
Available as Strap Only, Composition Toe, or Composition Toe & Strap. The composition toe meets ASTM F2412-18a / F2413-18.

First time up had heavy pollen the shoes did fine and leared to walk like a cat. The shoes felt solid.

Overall they seem to be a good quality boot. The traction and magnetism are pretty good but honestly, I was expecting a little more. Still pretty happy with the purchase though.

Purchased it to climb pretty steep metal roofs and it really does help out in additional to my safety gear. Well made and overall does what it states. The magnets are strong and help me keep stable footing.

I just received Steelwalker boots. I've only used them once. Materials and construction seems to be very high quality. They performed as advertised. I do not work as a roofer, so I will only be using them occasionally to get on my own metal roof. So I won't be able to speak to how well they will hold up with regular use.

Great looking boot. The shipping was fast. My boot size is 10.5 and they fit great.

They a bigger than regular size, should have gone down a size to fit right. However thick socks help. Since I put them on once on the roof it would be nice to have a bigger loop on the back of the boot to pull them on. They are way better than rubber sole tennis shoes but can still slip on 6/12 pitch. Would be nice if there was an option for stronger magnets for steeper pitches.
Bottom line is I don’t think i can work on a metal roof again without them

Bottom needs to be cleaned before going on the metal but I was able to walk on a 12/12 with them

The boots worked really well, with just the right amount of "adhesion" to the steel roofing for secure footing without requiring extra effort to lift the feet. I highly recommend them for people working on steel roofs!

I would actually like to return them, could not work on metal roof with these boots as you must have feet totally planted on roofing surface while standing, couldn’t bend over to reach lower section of gable so set up ladders and pick off rake of roof

These boots are so nice for walking on a metal roof. I ordered these boots for my husband and I to do some repair work on a seal that was leaking on a fireplace chimney. Our boss paid for them and I’m so grateful that we had these we could not have done this job without the steel Walker II boots, we felt totally safe on a steep 2 story metal roof . If you try this shoes on, please don't remove the tag. I could not get my money back because my guy removed tags, and it was gone with a trash. Even though he had them on for about 1 min. And Shoes are in a perfect original condition and packaging. Even paid $200 for a second day air.

Worked great on 27 gauge pro panel steel roofing. Stepping between the high ribs has always been normal practice to avoid damage to the panel. They aren’t bulky so still easy to do so. The roof was blown with light dust overnight and the boots did great with not scratching and the magnets did their job and kept the footing firm. Just that little extra pull to keep the natural down pressure of body weight stationary is a nice comfort. Can move faster and safer. The nonslip tread does a good job by itself. Wore them for 10 hours right out of the box pretty comfortable for a brand new boot. We will see how they hold up. I say they are worth the price!
